Louis Vuitton Foundation: NOCTURNE 03 BASQUIAT X WARHOL

On Friday, June 2, 2023, the Louis Vuitton Foundation organized the NOCTURNE 03 BASQUIAT X WARHOL to which Maison Hind Kroussa Paris had the immense privilege of being invited. This architectural gem, imagined by architect Frank Gehry, provided an exceptional setting for this evening.

Upon our arrival, we were immediately immersed in a striking artistic universe, with a carefully orchestrated selection of contemporary and modern works. Every corner of the place revealed creative treasures, inviting us to explore the many facets of art.

During the evening, we were able to witness the mesmerizing performances of contemporary art dancers, who captivated our attention and broadened our artistic horizons. Their talent and unique expression truly took the audience into a world of movements and emotions.

Mellina Boubetra and Evan Greenaway share a common artistic sensibility. After studying biology, Mellina decided to dedicate herself to dance at the end of 2015. She catches the attention of dancers and choreographers such as John Degois and Andrew Skeels, and she then leads her own projects that fluctuate between hip-hop and contemporary dance, always with a strong musicality.

On the other hand, Evan Greenaway, after acquiring the basics of breakdance, has the opportunity to dance with famous artists such as Johanna Faye, Saïdo Lehlouh, and the Naïf collective. In 2019, he founded his own dance company, called Diving Leaf.

Despite their individual journeys, Mellina and Evan carried the dream of sharing the stage together. Finally, the call to dance brought them together during the NOCTURNE 03 BASQUIAT X WARHOL at the Louis Vuitton Foundation. Their shared passion for dance and artistic sensibility led them to come together to create and perform together.

This duo of author-performers represents a unique fusion of the different dance styles they have been exposed to. Their collaboration promises to bring remarkable richness and diversity to their on-stage performance. By combining their talents and experiences, they seek to push the boundaries of bodily expression, explore new forms of movement, and create choreographic pieces that transcend traditional conventions.

They embody the meeting of two artists who, despite their distinct backgrounds, share a passion for dance and a common vision of artistic expression. Their reunion on stage represents a unique opportunity to merge different dance styles, push creative boundaries, and offer the audience an unforgettable choreographic experience.

The two were inspired by this magnificent poem available below to bring their artistic performance to life:

"A fold, some bounces, and four hands.

Bodies that follow each other, that live, that love each other

who fall, fly away, vibrate, and fight.

To bend to the rules of the other's body

Adapt but without force, without shock

Apart from that of two hearts against each other

Two bodies seeking a common measure, hoping to stop together.

The night ended on a festive and convivial note, with a lively dance party on the roof of the Louis Vuitton Foundation. It was the perfect opportunity to meet other professionals from the artistic field, exchange ideas, and share our common passion.
